♪Stella By Starlightについて
1944年のアメリカ映画『呪いの館(The Uninvited)』で使われた曲であるらしいが、当初同曲名は「プレリュード」とタイトルされていたようだ。46年ヴィクター・ヤングのオーケストラのレコードから、同年ネッド･ワシントンにより映画の登場人物名であるStella Meredith にちなんで歌詞が付けられたそうだ。
シナトラ(vo)の録音が47年、52年チャーリー・パーカー、スタン・ゲッツ、53年『バド・パウエルの芸術』バド・パウエル(p)、『ケニー・ドリュー・トリオ』などの録音がよく知られている。特に同曲の名演と称されるのは『マイ・ファニー・ヴァレンタイン/マイルス・デイビス』
